In November 2020, Stardust Board members Jennifer Smiljanich and Kathy Trontell started to research activities in municipalities throughout the country related to policy development supporting deconstruction. During this time we discovered Alexia Yaple, with Public Works at the City of Phoenix was doing similar research. We decided to collaborate and the Valley of the Sun Deconstruction/Reuse Work Group (VOSD/RWG) was the result.

In 2022 we began hosting monthly virtual sessions to share work being done across the country to establish incentive, executive order and policy relate to deconstruction services. Today, VOSD/RWG hosts 10 virtual sessions per year. We attract speakers and attendees from throughout the United States and many International communities.
